What our clients are saying.
“I have journeyed through this process before to some degree, but never with a concept or idea that was not previously established and had clearly defined needs and expectations in place. In that, designshop’s awareness of this was complemented by their willingness to listen to our vision and develop design ideas that not only helped shape how we present cars but also kept us within stated budget constraints. In fact, it was designshop’s team that created the whole chronological presentation theme we use here at the museum to display vehicles placed on loan. This helps make the exhibit experience make more sense to the visitor by placing vehicles on display in their proper historical context - a stated goal of our overall mission at the Edge Motor Museum.”
- Richard Vining, Executive Director, Edge Motor Museum
“The renovation is absolutely wonderful. We are not only pleased with the outcome but admire your professionalism in completing this project. From the design, to drawings, to bringing ideas to life.”
- Paul Goddard, Elder, Park Avenue Church of Christ
“You’re in good hands working with designshop. They’re a developer-friendly architect--- strong on the team process of methodically developing top-value places.”
- Scott Bojko, Project Consultant
"After our first meeting with designshop, I felt confident the team would be able to design the house of our dreams. When communicating my vision for the house, designshop listened to what I did and didn’t want in the design of my house. Our vision for the house was to have a large living room and kitchen with large ceilings and expansive views of the lake. designshop stayed in tune with our goals and tastes throughout the process, and the result far exceeded our expectations.”
- David Smith, Owner, Smith Residence
“designshop has been a vital cornerstone and partner throughout this entire project. From the beginning, they spent time getting to know our needs throughout the company. Additionally, they brought a wide variety of fresh ideas, and times, challenged our own thinking (in a very beneficial way!) to see that our project reached it's full potential.
Like many projects, Amro's required some adjustments and multiple iterations. designshop was exceptional in this regard, working quickly and efficiently through the changes and ensuring they were accurately reflected for the contractor as construction progressed.
The project management from designshop was exceptional. Craig, our project manager, was a true asset to the team through a two year, multi-phase renovation project. He worked closely with both the Amro team and the contractor team to ensure deadlines were met and to help resolve any surprised in the construction phase.
We would quickly use designshop again for future projects and are grateful for their efforts in helping Amro Music design a space in Memphis for the next generation of musicians.“
- Nick Averwater, Amro Music Stores, Inc.
“Fire Stations offer unique challenges not typically found in other buildings. I started our process with a sketch on a piece of paper. After meeting with me and our advisory team, designshop incorporated that vision, design, and features into a workable and cost-effective design that will meet our needs for many years to come.”
- Gary Graves, Public Safety Director, Millington Fire Station
“Engaging designshop for their design expertise is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made for our brand spanning three store concepts.
Our first project with designshop focused on the renovation and expansion of Buster’s Liquors & Wines on Highland St in 2015. The dramatic changes to color aesthetics across the entire store and the overall design layout elevated the customer experience, complemented our products featured on the shelves, and enhanced workspaces for our employees. From a customer standpoint, the space now offers great sightlines, consistent lighting temperature, and an easier flow to navigate.
Buster’s Butcher was the most challenging project because of the extensive technical design needed for intricate mechanical requirements in a very limited 2,200 square foot space. The result is nothing short of stunning as designshop helped create a warm, upscale, and inviting space while avoiding the typical sterile environment often found in meat shops. Soft color tones and wood finishes blended nicely with brushed brass metal accents and glass display fixtures for an impressive appearance, with detailed lighting effects complemented by natural light.
Soon after, we began work on an 18,000 square foot second location for Buster’s Liquors. This was the easiest project to manage because of the blank shell to design and build within, thereby avoiding costly demolition surprises or work-around situations with an existing operation. designshop listened to all our “dream ideas” that included well-designed offices, intimate tasting rooms, and areas on the sales floor where our staff can create unique experiences and cultivate relationships. The wood details, from the ninety-foot Whiskey Wall made from walnut, the Spanish cedar walk-in cigar humidor, and barrel staves that accent our desk areas, offer a great balance between premium and down-to-earth.
The finished product of all three of our locations has elevated our brand and, in all instances, provided a ‘wow’ factor for all those who visit our operations.”
- Josh Hammond, Busters Liquors
"designshop helped us reimage our space and turn our 100-year-old building into an office that felt like our own. The entire design process was very collaborative. When we had suggestions or wanted to go in a different direction, designshop helped us reach a resolution that worked while keeping the project on track for completion.
designshop exceeded our expectations during the construction phase of the project. They continued to visit the site to ensure that the contractors on the project were held accountable for what the drawings required. We would not have pushed back as hard on several things had designshop not been alongside us during the construction process."
- Lauren Ready, Owner, Forever Ready Productions
“When my partner Brittany and I first dreamt of opening Sonder Luxury Suites, we were starting from scratch. We had a great space, but no idea how we would fit suites into it functionally while keeping the aesthetic modern, beautiful, and interesting. designshop understood our vision. They designed interesting details such as curved walls and incorporated the use of natural wood, which was perfect for the feel of the space we had imagined. Our love for designshop only grew as we began construction and problems arose with our contractor. designshop went above and beyond to offer their advice and support as we pushed through to the finish line. We could not have done it without the knowledge and professionalism of the designshop team!”
- Courtney Kelly, Owner, Sonder Luxury Suites
