Radians Corporate Lounge

Radians is an international company manufacturing construction safety gear for worldwide distribution. The Radians global headquarters, located in Memphis, Tennessee, needed to convert unused space within their office into a lounge and employee training room. The client envisioned a lounge space where the company could entertain and converse with clients in a more casual atmosphere, opposed to an office or conference room. The second component of the project, the employee training room, featured an atmosphere unlike the lounge. With an educational focus, the employee training room includes tables for laptops, overhead projectors, and roll down screens for presentations and lectures. 

The project included lounge space, employee training room, offices, and restroom facilities, all of which were located on the second floor within a “leftover” space overlooking the warehouse. The lounge was designed to feel dark, earthy, and have a very different mood than that of the training room. Focused lighting was specifically chosen for the lounge, opposed to having abundant ambient light throughout the space. Two seating areas behave as “living rooms” where clients can relax on a sofa or lounge chair to have a more private conversation. Additionally, there is a billiards table, long dining table, and a full service kitchen within the lounge. A glass wall, clad in graphics of company merchandise, separates the lounge from the employee training room. The graphics on the glass wall obscures the view from the lounge into the training room.
