Hickory Withe Baptist Church

Hickory Withe Baptist Church is an active church and growing congregation in rural Hickory Withe outside Memphis, TN. The church has existed for decades and grown building-by-building over time. Despite such growth, the church never built a fellowship hall where the entire church body could congregate and break bread. The current project includes a fellowship hall addition capable of comfortably seating 250 people. Supporting the fellowship hall is a commercial kitchen with ample equipment and storage. The addition also includes 6 senior adult classrooms and a church library. A new, large gymnasium with a supporting lobby, restrooms, concessions, and storage is positioned on the north side of the campus in a two-story building. Below the gym, new middle school and high school worship spaces provide classroom and group worship.

The existing buildings have been redesigned to update and better connect the existing spaces. The redesign of the existing buildings involves the removal of the original sanctuary building in preparation for a new main entrance and front facade that unifies the various structures. This main entrance space creates a clear entry point for guests when approaching the building, while also connecting to the sanctuary, fellowship hall, and administration building. The existing gym is converted into adult classrooms while the administration wing has been gutted and reconfigured to accommodate additional offices for a growing staff.
