Soul Fish Cafe

Soul Fish Cafe is a Memphis brand eatery for casual dining that is located on an outparcel of a large suburban mall. The restaurant is designed with an open layout in the interior space and a large overhang on the front of the building, creating space for outdoor seating and a covered front entrance. The building is designed to be both a lively and comfortable space where patrons can sit to eat and relax within a dining space filled with natural light.

The exterior material palette includes brick, glass, steel, and wood. The underside of the porch roof is clad in wood, while the other exterior facades are clad in white brick. Large windows on both the North and East facades allow for views outside while admitting substantial daylight into the space. designshop worked closely with GCD Interiors on the interiors of the restaurant. The rawness of the concrete slab and exposed roof structure is balanced with delicate touches of wood, lighting, and color. The branded metallic fish shine as the stars of the space and become the memorable image bringing diners back for future meals.
